Johanneum Museum in Dresden

The goal is the restoration of the façade settings from 1872-1876, which was the last rebuilding phase. With the aid of the damage mappings and material examinations, a measurement of the repair work on the piece of heavily damaged façade can be made.
The construction supervision for the plaster work is conducted through our office.

Restoring a Barn Stall in Dresden

To prepare the restoration of the fire damage in the stall examinations to fix the damage and plan appropriate restoration measures were carried out. The remains of the historical materials were analyzed and the measuring concepts were taken into account.

All restoration on the plaster and natural stone work were supervized and monitored.

Engineering School in Zwickau

The art nouveau façade from 1903 shows many varying architectural details which need to be examined. The original plaster is fragmentary and holds countless details, which need to be explained in seven different technical and material ways. With the aid of material- and damage mappings, a measurement plan of the original restoration can be made. The statement of the work and the monitoring of the restoration process will be handled through our office.

Saxony-Anhalt State Archeive

The heaviest damage is on the façade of the former barracks, and the frame of the reconstructed State Archive should be looked after. The pre-blended façade shows damage through the settlement foundation; there is chipping, defective lattices, leaching, and pollution.

Reconstruction of the Vicar Church Facade in Zwickau

The church facade was last renovated in 1930. The facade was made new with a coarse-grained concrete aggrigate and rustic surface texturing.

After the initial examination of the binding agent, grading curve, and mixture ratios, we can successfully determine a mortar recipe and choose the proper binding medium and aggregate. There will be written instructions for the producer of the dry mortar and leading firms so that a suitable execution of the job will take place. After the application of the surface sample, the dry mortar producer will work with the construction mixture.

Those who do the best preservation work of the original plaster of the church will continue renovation care. The last coating will be followed by a lime coating.

Lukas Church in Zwickau

We prepared and cared for the plaster work of the inner surface walls of the neo-gothic Lukas Church. There were good findings of historical plaster and paint work. In large parts of the plaster surface it was necessary to dismantle the plaster and renew it. In preparation for the plasterwork the composition of the plaster material was analysed and we created an authentic compostion of the new plaster material. Here, supplements of steelmill cinder and steelmill sand were neccessary. These were, in earlier times, found in the area around Zwickau in plaster use. The determind low base lime binding agent leads to the conclusion that steelmill cinder and steelmill sand were used consciously as a hydraulic binding agent. The characteristics of these hydraulic materials were known during the church's building time and are found for example in blast-furnace cement.
For the execution of the plaster work we developed a proposal and described each step of the work technique. The planning process was accompanied by the analysis of the salt and humidity content of the surfaces.

Facade Montage on the Central hall in Zwickau

On the hundredth anniversary of Robert Schuhmann, a huge poster print was installed as a memorial in front of the Central Hall in Zwickau. To avoid damages on the facade, we took charge of the installation. The anchoring was not as originally forseen with cement anchors, but with reversible anchors by drilling through the outer wall. This allows a problem free removal of the anchors after the installation. The medival pillars that were found in the outer walls needed protection from the installation.
